The Port ‘n’ Peat Storehouse Special is a premium blended Whiskey with around 45% Malt (of which 5% is Peated). The Malt component is mainly 5-6 year old Great Northern finished in really fresh Tawny Port casks as well as some 14 year old Cooley. The Grain is 5 & 6 year old Great Northern stock, around half of which is finished in Ruby Port casks. A really easy drinking Whiskey; neither Port nor Peat overpowers the other at this level - instead the Peat highlights some of the fruit flavours in the Whiskey.

Storehouse Specials are occasional small releases of interesting Whiskeys to engage with the Whiskey community with what Wayward Spirits are up to. Some will be single cask offerings, interesting finishes of which we only have small quantities, cask strength versions of the core products or trials of products they're thinking of releasing in larger quantities.

Batch 3 is 400 numbered bottles (200 for Ireland) of 350ml at 46% ABV.

Tasting notes:
Nose: Butterscotch, banana and sponge cake. The peat sits gently in the background.

Palate: Full bodied with creamy mouthfeel. Fruity, the peat very light with a hint of dark chocolate.

Finish: Dry but very long. Notes of charred wood, coffee beans and fermented grass.
