Connacht Single Malt Batch 1 received multiple awards since its launch in 2021, including gold medals from the Irish Whiskey Awards, New York International Spirits Competition, a double gold from the San Francisco World Spirits Awards and a best-in-class from the American Distilling Institute.
Working with their distillers and master blender, they're evolving this whiskey from the 4 year old ‘Batch 1’ to the 5 year old ‘Spirit of the Atlantic’, at a revised ABV of 44.8%.
Tasting notes:
Nose: Raisin, honey sweetness, hints of almond and star anise
Palate: Vanilla, spices, dried fruit and malt
Finish: Warming, full-bodied, lingering walnuts and honey
