This 100% peated single malt Irish whiskey was originally aged in bourbon casks before being divided and finished in Killowen’s own dark rum casks and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The result is a beautifully layered whiskey that balances the smoky depth of Irish peat with the indulgent warmth of rum and sherry.
On the palate, expect waves of prunes, figs, and raisins from the PX sherry influence, seamlessly intertwined with the tropical notes of coconut, vanilla, and molasses from the rum finish. The gentle peat smoke lingers gracefully, framing the sweetness with a satisfying, earthy complexity.
Sourced from GND in County Louth and finished at Killowen Distillery in the Mourne Mountains, this whiskey captures Killowen’s signature small-batch craftsmanship — authentic, expressive, and unapologetically bold.
