Yachtsman Plug

Yachtsman Plug – historically also known as Yachtsman Navy Plug – is a robust traditional pipe tobacco combining heavy-bodied flue-cured Virginias from Africa and Brazil with aromatic Burley.

Conditioned with water, the blended leaf is slowly compressed in large steam presses for several days, allowing its different tobacco characters to meld before the cakes are divided into dense plugs. The smoker can then slice and rub the tobacco to their preferred consistency.

Rich, earthy and naturally full-flavoured, Yachtsman delivers substantial Virginia sweetness alongside the fuller, nuttier character of Burley and only a subtle aromatic accent. Its dense construction encourages a long, slow smoke, making it a characteristically robust expression of the traditional plug style.
