The first edition of Midleton Very Rare Forêt de Tronçais brings together mature Irish whiskey and fine-grained French oak. Its elegant, silky character combines orchard fruit and honeycomb sweetness with fresh herbs, roasted nuts and subtle woodland spice.
Selected pot still and grain whiskeys, drawn from distillations spanning the 1980s to the 2000s, form the foundation. Additional maturation in specially prepared Tronçais oak adds another dimension while retaining Midleton’s balance of fruit, sweetness and spice.
Created through a collaboration with French cooperage Taransaud, Edition 1 offers a distinctive exploration of oak’s influence on mature blended Irish whiskey.
