Tasting notes:
Nose: Soft orchard fruits, red apples, overripe pears and red apple skins leads to baked plum pudding, vanilla cream anglaise, and a hint of warming nutmeg.
Palate: Red berry and madeira cake trifle laced with sherry and vanilla pods, warming up to baked plums in red wine and cinnamon sticks. Red toffee apple and underlying sweetness from the port casks. Soft wood, toasted almonds and mild winter spices.
Finish: Long, lingering, viscous and satisfying. Cream soda from the Echlinville Pot Still transforms into iced raspberry and cherry Bakewell tart, before fading gradually to a final gentle hint of warm spiced ginger cake and vanilla cream.
