Portaneena is a fifteen-year-old single grain Irish whiskey from Lough Ree Distillery’s The Bridge single-cask series. Distilled at Cooley in 2009, it offers a rich, sherry-led expression of grain whiskey, with a notably syrupy texture.
Dark fruit, almonds and brown sugar sweetness meet leather, tobacco and warming spice. Its substantial mouthfeel makes it a distinctive choice for drinkers who enjoy mature whiskey with generous dried-fruit character.
Named after a townland on Lough Ree’s southeastern shore, this release brings together long maturation and two contrasting sherry influences.
