Framed In Grain Vol. 2 continues the series with another expressive meeting of Irish whiskey and contemporary Irish art. This release showcases “Nothing To Say Here”, a bold and textural work by Joseph Gervin, whose layered surfaces and vivid diagonal strike create a sense of tension, interruption, and visual rhythm. The artwork’s sculpted typography and the arresting sweep of red invite reflection – a quiet message delivered through forceful form. This piece is an early favourite from when we first started creating the Framed In Grain concept.

Bottled from a single carefully selected cask – Calvados, in which the whiskey had spent the last 18 months of its maturation – and offered at natural strength, this whiskey mirrors the artwork’s depth and structure. It is unblended, undiluted, and shaped by time alone, capturing the individuality and personality that define the Framed In Grain ethos.

Each bottle is individually numbered, housed in a bespoke presentation box featuring the artwork in full. With it's one-off character and limited availability (320 bottles made), Vol. 2 stands as the perfect companion to the debut release – another example of how Irish whiskey and modern art can speak to each other through craft, texture, and detail.

Tasting notes:
Nose: Vivid and expressive. Fresh green apple, baked apple skin, and poached pear immediately lead, driven by the Calvados cask influence. Behind this sits honey, citrus peel, and a subtle floral lift, with a sharper, slightly mineral edge adding definition.

Palate: Powerful and structured. A surge of orchard fruit meets spiced honey, clove, and cracked black pepper. The higher ABV brings intensity and grip, while a faint bittersweet note (apple skin, light oak char) adds tension and complexity.

Finish: Long and assertive. Drying oak, warming spice, and persistent apple notes linger, with a final return of sweetness (honeyed and slightly waxy) on the tail.
