Fettercairn 22 Year Old brings together the distillery’s tropical fruit character and the deeper oak and spice notes of extended maturation. Banana, citrus and plum meet dried fruit and gingerbread, followed by caramelised orange, coffee and liquorice.
Matured in first-fill American ex-bourbon casks, this Highland single malt offers a layered balance of fresh fruit, darker sweetness and warming spice. It suits drinkers who enjoy mature bourbon-cask whisky with plenty of fruit alongside its oak influence, and rewards an unhurried pour.
Tasting notes:
Nose: Banana, citrus fruit and plum, combines with raisin, fig and ginger bread
Palate: Spiced pear, caramelised orange and coffee, tempered by liquorice that then makes way to morello cherry, plum and treacle
