The first single malt whiskey expression from the Lough Gill Distillery team. Matured for 11 years in ex bourbon American oak casks and then finished for three years in Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks.
Annacoona is a traditional name for Benbulben, the table topped peak that shelters Lough Gill from northerly winds and the setting for the climax of the old Irish myth about the lovers Diarmait & Grania.
Tasting notes:
Nose: Orange oil, dried fruits and aromas of dark chocolate
Palate: Raisin, spices and a rich sweet flavour
Finish: Salted caramel and forest fruits with dark chocolate
