Released as part of the Soleo Collection, Glenrothes presents their 18 year old Single Malt.
This series was named after the process of sun-drying grapes for the production of sherry in Jerez, and as such you should expect plenty of sherry notes throughout. This one features a very high proportion of first-fill sherry seasoned oak cask matured whisky at its core.
Tasting notes:
Nose: Decadent vanilla and orange, with hints of cherry and almond developing.
Palate: Still packing plenty of dried fruit notes, alongside crisp pear and a spicy touch of stem ginger.
Finish: Lasting sweetness of vanilla and pear, with peppery flourishes.
