This is a 13 year old Single Grain, distilled in Cooley Distillery. It’s limited to 314 bottles and bottled at 46% ABV.
This whiskey was first matured in a Bourbon cask for 9 years and 2 months, then Somontano wine cask for 15½ months before being moved back to first fill Bourbon cask for the remainder of its 13 year maturation. The Somontano cask is from a small family-run producer called el Grillo y la Luna in Barbastro, in the foothills of the Pyrenees in Northern Spain.
This 13 year old Single Grain with a slight pink tint is fruity, fresh, quite unusual and very moreish. Like all of The Bridge releases, this is a non chill-filtered whiskey with no added colour.
Inny Bay is on the Longford/Westmeath border on the eastern shores of Lough Ree, in the heart of Goldsmith Country, close to Tang and Maghera. It’s where the The River Inny, a magnificent pike fishery, finishes its journey all the way from near Oldcastle in Co Meath, as it flows into Lough Ree.
