Bertha's Revenge is a small batch Gin made from Ballyvolane House in east cork. The gin is named after Bertha, a legendary Droimeann cow from Sneem Co. Kerry that lived for 48 years to become the world's oldest cow. Having given birth to an eye-bulging 39 calves over her lifetime, Bertha became a celebrity amongst dairy farmers, but unfortunately passed away in 1993. To immortalise her memory, Justin Green and Anthony Jackson from Ballyvolane House have created this unique gin using whey, rather than grain, from local dairy farmers, along with locally grown and foraged botanicals and natural spring water. The result is a gin with a fragrant nose, a soft mouthfeel and a long, fruity finish.
